As this year enters its final month, we still dream. As we cradle a small, fragile sake cup in our vulnerable human hands we feel the care and intention with which it was made. We also feel the surge of aspiration in Hi- gashida’s Oribe works, the wisdom of nature in Kohara’s creations, and a soaring of hope in Matsutani’s delicate creations.
2020 has been an extraordinary, unique, eventful, challenging year. Like many of you, we have found our dreams, our loves and our plans disrupted or postponed. We strug- gle between hope and despair and, yet, we have made new friends both close and afar. We appreciate your support and patronage during these disconcerting times as you ac- company us on a walk or voice a discrete in- quiry into our well-being.
