Many cultures have
discovered the properties of clay and
have made vases as a tool to help carry
out their daily lives. The knowledge to manipulate and fire clay has helped
develop civilization to the point where
we are today, the Anthropocene. It has
become harder to differentiate between
the artificial and the natural in the
Anthropocene when there is evidence of human activity on almost all surfaces
of the Earth. Ion Fukazawa explores the human races’ struggle to understand their own identity as a
species to where they lie on the spectrum between the artificial and the natural.
As a young artist emerging into the ceramic scene, his talent for sculpture is unparalleled.
