Takeuchi Shingo (b. 1955)'s geometric flair shines in this guinomi. The labyrinthine patterns hugs a hollowed out cup, recalling architectural, stone industrial forms. He has dug out a four-footed base from the clay body, framing this guinomi with a sturdy, architectural form. The nacreous interior recalls organic textures- what a juxtaposition! Takeuchi has cultivated a new Seto style. His use muted use of polychrome inlay stands out: This blue inlaid guinomi is an excellent distillation of Takeuchi Shingo's sculptural style into a functional sake ware.
