Sugimoto Sadamitsu is regarded as a master of Iga, Shigaraki, and Raku. At age 80, he became a monk at Daitoku-ji in Kyoto, Japan. He is most well known for his tea wares, from water jars to tea bowls, his works are aesthetic anchors to the Japanese tea ceremony. Sugimoto’s pieces are immersed in Buddhist philosophies.
