Morino's work continues to combine tradition and innovation while expressing his dedication to the deeply complex concept of modern beauty.
Morino Taimei (also known as Morino Hiroaki Taimei)'s repertoire of avant-garde ceramics consists of colourful, polychrome geometric motifs that translate traditional Kyoto-based glaze methods into contemporary mediums. Influenced by Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism in the 1960s, his work follows the tenets of rejecting traditional folk-craft forms observed by the avant-garde group Sodeisha.
