1941  Born in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture
1969  Built his own kiln at the site of the old Yumino kiln
1976  Awarded the Minister of Education Prize at the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Ceramic Art Exhibition
1977  Awarded the Encouragement Prize at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
1981  Awarded the Prime Minister's Prize at the West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition
1983  Awarded the Ceramic Society of Japan Prize
1990  Recognized as a Saga Prefecture Important Intangible Cultural Property
1995  Published a collection of essays entitled "Yumino Four Seasons Glazed Colors:

   The World of Hiroshi Nakajima"
1996  Awarded the MOA Okada Mokichi Grand Prize, Fujiwara Kei Memorial Prize

   Saga Newspaper Cultural Prize
2005  Received the NHK Chairman's Award
2006  Awarded the Gold Prize of the Ceramic Society of Japan and the Nishinippon Culture Award
2007  Recognized as the holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "celadon"
