1954  Becomes an apprentice of Ishiguro Munemaro in Kyoto
1965  Becomes independent and sets up his own studio in Setagaya, Tokyo
1976  Awarded the Japan Pottery Association Prize
1992  Director of the Japan Crafts Association
2002  Permanent director of the same association
2005  Recognized as a holder of the Important Cultural Property,
